SAJ SCHOOL OF YOGA

Yoga is about more than the physical movements and poses— it's about cultivating understanding and deepening your practice through education. That is why continual learning is woven into our studio culture. Through Saj, we offer specialized trainings and courses for students looking for more insight through guided practices, informative discussions, and extensive trainings.

Advanced Anatomy

Elevate your teaching and transform your students' practice with our dynamic course focused on the science behind stretching! Designed specifically for yoga instructors, this course will deepen your understanding of the body's mechanics and enhance your ability to guide students safely, effectively, and supported by science.

Delve into the various stretching techniques—including ballistic, dynamic, static, and PNF—and discover how to apply them to optimize human movement and mitigate risks of injury. Learn about muscle contractions, the role of proprioceptors, and how to assess load and force in movement.

By integrating a robust anatomical and physiological knowledge with practical applications, you will gain the tools to create more effective, informed classes that resonate with your students. Join us and empower yourself to foster a deeper connection between body awareness and movement, setting the stage for growth and transformation on the mat!

  • Liz first found yoga in 2012 after she tore her ACL, craving any type of movement her body would allow. After continuing in her practice for a few years, she then earned her 200HR teaching certificate at Asheville Yoga Center in 2018.

Her practice allows creativity to meet science, as her practice stems from a strong foundation in anatomy and physiology.

Liz has traveled throughout the country for her education and work, but yoga is one of the things that has stuck with her. She is currently a PhD student at The University of Kentucky in the Rehabilitation and Health Sciences Program and is a certified athletic trainer.

PRIVATE PRACTICE

We join forces with David Aulick, the owner and founder of Athlete House PT. Together, we will delve into the intricacies of a mobility assessment, a powerful tool designed to pinpoint areas of the body that may be tight or restricted. You will learn how to craft a personalized yoga practice tailored to address these specific areas.

  • Throughout this comprehensive training program, we are committed to equipping you with the skills to excel in one-on-one client  interactions, empowering you to apply your profound knowledge of the  human body to meet their unique needs.

  • The workshop is part of Saj School of Yoga's 300-hour teacher training program and contributes 20 hours towards completion. Prerequisites for this course are Re-patterning or Creating Variability.

Additionally, it fulfills the Yoga Alliance Continuing Education requirements.
